Free Thinkers

Free Thinkers provides a safe space; a public forum where intellectuals, poets, artists, freakers, speakers, and everyday people express themselves. It is curated around the desire to emphasize diversity of all kinds.

This series began in 2016 in Shenzhen, China when a friend and myself realized that there were limited forums for self expression. The idea was to create a space where people were given the opportunity to give short presentations about passion projects, life lessons, interesting ideas...basically anything that would incite lively discussion among the performers and audience.

I continued producing Free Thinkers after I moved to Cape Town in 2017. The best thing about it is the way it evolves with the context of the time and place. We are always looking for performers that are unlike anything we have seen before. AMong other things, we aim to bring attention and meaningful discussion to current social topics.
